Parent Jobs

Parent Jobs

Please remember this program is run cooperatively. All parents MUST be involved in some way to keep this wonderful program running. Everyone must sign up for a parent job.

There are many different types of parent jobs available. See the list of available jobs below.

If you are unable to fulfill your parent duties at any time, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. In the past, parents have posted on the Pals Community email list to find someone who is willing to fill in for them.

Those interested in performing a second parent job will receive a $50 credit toward classes for their child, if credit is available. Requests for extra jobs and credits will be offered first come, first served.  Contact Jennifer (i69express@yahoo.com) or Leigh  (skyecontracting@verizon.net) if interested.

Class Assistants

Class Assistants are required to help the teacher set up before and clean up after class.  They will also assist with discipline issues, as needed. Assistants must be willing to fill in for the teacher in the event of an emergency absence. In this case, the assistant will follow a lesson plan prepared by the teacher.  Assistants are not responsible for preparing any lessons or providing necessary materials.

The Morning Helper

The Morning Helper is asked to arrive at the church no later than 9:30 am the first week, and 9:45 am each week after that to set up tables, chairs, and other items necessary to start our day.

Lunch Duty (multiple families)

The Lunch Duty team will prepare the basement for classes after lunch, and sweep the floors, as needed.

Coffee/Tea Coordinator/Hostess

Makes sure there is coffee and tea for parents each day.  Keeps coffee/tea/treat table tidy, keep track of the supplies, coordinate requesting donations and use donations to purchase supplies, put away coffee/tea etc. at end of day.

Pre-Orientation Assistant

Prints class schedule and room assignments for each class registrant, prints (or hand writes) nametags for orientation, copies all orientation packet materials provided by Enrichment organizers, assembles orientation packets for distribution.

On-Site Orientation Assistant

Arrives at 9:30 a.m. on day of pre-session orientation meeting, helps with set-up and assists with the distribution of name tags and orientation packets.  Creates a directory mock-up for orientation day, inputs any changes, creates a pdf to email to Enrichment class participants and teachers (or print and make copies for distribution at Enrichment).  Makes name tags for the first few Enrichment sessions. Creates, prints, posts and removes room signs at orientation and for the first few weeks of Enrichment classes (to include floor plan, room numbers, schedule for each room, etc. - this information is provided by Enrichment organizers).

Afternoon Clean-Up Team

From 3:00 - 4:00 pm each week, this team (4 families) will work to vacuum/sweep floors, do light clean-up in bathrooms, clean kitchen, take items left behind to the lost and found box in the basement, ensure families who used the nursery have put away all of hte toys, and put away tables and chairs that are still out.  Basically, you need to ensure that our space looks like it did when we got there in the morning.

The following family jobs are best filled by enrichment families who have been around for at least a year and "know the ropes."  (If you are new and feel quite capable of any of the following tasks, contact Jennifer, Leigh or Christina)

First day registration assistant

Attends a table for the entire first day of enrichment pointing people to their classes, handing out family jobs lists.

Scholarship Fundraiser
