PALS Scholastic Book Club
All PALS families are welcome to order discounted books and educational materials through the PALS Scholastic Book Club.
Right now, the PALS book club is reading 100 books to help conserve 100 acres of rainforest through the Rainforest Alliance. Click the link below to see how we're doing!
How The Club Works:
There are two orders submitted each month. The first order is for books ranging in grade level from toddler through 6th grade. Orders can be placed from the 1st through the 15th of the month.
The second order is for books for grades 7 and up, computer software for grades preK - 8, and Spanish language books for grades preK - 8. All orders are due by the last day of the month and can be placed any time from the 16th until the last day of the month.
Orders are placed online through the Scholastic Book Club website and are paid for directly to Scholastic. Alternative payment arrangements can be made by contacting the book club administrator.
PALS does not benefit monetarily from these book sales, however, we are able to earn bonus points with which we can purchase materials for the PALS library.
How to Order:
Just go to http://www.scholastic.com/parentordering
There you can enter the class name: palsbookclub
and the password: orders
From there you will be taken to a page showing the current catalogs available for you to order from. You can order from just one or from several catalogs in the same order. Browse the catalogs, make your selections and place your order! It is quite easy.
Book Pickup:
You will be notified when your books have arrived. You can pick them up any Wednesday during PALS Enrichment classes in the East End of Pittsburgh, or you can make arrangements to pick your books up at one of several private homes located in various spots in the city and suburbs, from families who have agreed to be "drop off points". You can notify the administrator how or where you would like to pick up your books when you are contacted about each order.
Current Order:
We are currently ordering from the following catalogs:
Honeybee: toddlers to 4 year olds
Firefly: preK
SeeSaw: grades K-1
Lucky: grades 2-3
Arrow: grades 4-5-6
Orders are due by FEBRUARY 15, 2008.
